Bun E. Boniface® kicks off France week at the Dallas Arboretum’s 2018 Dallas Blooms festival, A World of Flowers, with a book signing and bilingual readings.








Author Cynthia Wildridge and her “friend “Bun E. Boniface® will help kick off France Week at the Dallas Arboretum!  The Dallas Arboretum celebrates A World of Flowers as the theme of the 2018 Dallas Blooms festival.  Each week of the 6-week celebration of spring and exquisite floral beauty will focus on a different international region and culture, beginning on February 24th with France!

Book Signing & Events at the Hoffman Family Gift Store: France Week

Can a bunny learn to count?  In French?  You might be surprised!

Author Cynthia Wildridge and Bun E. Boniface will delight children with bilingual readings of her picture book, Bun E. Learns to Count in French (Bun E. apprend à compter).  Several presentations will be offered between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 25th.  Stop by the Hoffman Family Gift Store on Sunday to say “bonjour” to Bun E. Boniface–and learn how to say a few words in French, yourself!

Book and accompanying audio CD’s are available for purchase in the Hoffman Family Gift Store, or bring your own book to the signing.

Other French-related events taking place during the France Week, February 24-March 2:

International Crossroads Village  Worlds intersect and become a festive place at the International Crossroads Village.  Activities and entertainment from around the globe change weekly based on the cultural theme.

Daily, 10am-3pm, Pecan Grove

We’ll have the Alliance of France – French Culture Club on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday, along with snacks, arts activities and other entertainment throughout the week

Saturday & Sundays, 10am-3pm, International Crossroads  The International Crossroads will have an abundance of activities including live music, dance, cultural activities and vendors selling products that are unique from all over the globe.

  • Saturday: Join Lorie Fangio, teaching chef and owner of A Taste of Paris, for an entertaining demonstration called, “The French and Their Cheese.” Lorie will demonstrate how to craft an authentic French cheese board, show proper cheese service, and discuss the differences between American and French cheese.
  • Saturday and Sunday:  French mime to entertain guests, ice cream, activities from the Alliance of Français Culture Club, and Joy Macarons.

Arts & Culture  Wednesdays, 10am-3pm

Cultural communities from around the metroplex visit the garden each week to present their culture. Each week’s activities include things like origami, calligraphy, dancing, or arts and crafts from different areas of the world. Along with arts and crafts opportunities, we feature regionally themed snacks.

Unique, Themed Food Available for Purchase at Cafe on the Green  (Across from Pecan Grove)  Each week, we offer of a unique food combination for purchase, designed to reflect the week’s region.

  • Weekdays, 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Weekends, 10:30 a.m to 4:00 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENT!  Alexandre de Vogue Speaking Engagement & Book Signing

  • Wednesday, March 21, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Rosine Hall

Join Mr. Alexandre de Vogue in Rosine Hall for the exclusive opportunity to hear all about this family’s chateau in France, Vaux-le-Vicomte, on March 21. At the conclusion of his talk, Alexandre will host a book signing.
